Ghost of Tsushima Is Receiving An Online Cooperative Mode

Sucker Punch has announced that Ghost of Tsushima will be getting a new online co-op mode called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The new game mode will be available to download for free later this year for everyone that owns the base game.

Legends is described as being an entirely new experience that is separate from Jin’s story. The game puts the focus on four new warriors that have been made out to be legends from stories told across Tsushima. It’s a more “haunting and fantastical” experience that has enemies and locations inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology.

Players can team up with friends or form groups of 2-4 people through online matchmaking. Everyone is able to choose from one of four different characters classes: Samurai, Ronin, Hunter, and Assassin. Each of these classes has weapons and abilities that are unique to them. Details on these aspects will be revealed at a later date.

If you’re playing Ghost of Tsushima: Legends in a two-person group, you can play through a series of co-op Story missions. These missions get harder as you progress and build on the combat that was present in the main game with some new supernatural twists. If you’re playing in a four-player group, you can participate in wave-based Survival missions. These missions have you fighting against strong enemies from across the island, including a new supernatural enemy type called Oni.

Shortly after the game’s launch, a Raid will be available for you to take on with four-players. This Raid will send you to a new realm where you’ll fight an even more powerful foe.

Details on character customization, classes and more will be released as we get closer to the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.

I reviewed Ghost of Tsushima and thought the game was amazing, so you can bet I’ll be playing this new mode when it releases later this year.
