Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise Gets US Demo Tomorrow

PS4 gamers who are interested in Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will get a chance to try the game very soon.

Game Informer is reporting that SEGA announced a demo for the game at its PAX West panel this weekend, and it will be available to download from the US PSN on Tuesday, September 4th. It’s not clear at this time if it will be the same demo that was released for the Japanese version of the game, or an entirely new one.

In addition to the demo, the Yakuza Twitter account teased that a skin for series protagonist Kiryu will be appear in the full game.

When Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise was announced as Hokuto ga Gotoku in Japan last year, it was unclear if the game would ever make its way to the west. The possibility of a localization first came up in a survey that SEGA released in April, when Yakuza 6: The Song of Life was released in the US and Europe. One of the questions asked “While no localization has been announced at this time, how interested are you in the Fist of the North Star game created by the developers of Yakuza?”

The fact that the game is developed by Ryu ga Gotoku Studio is probably a contributing factor for the worldwide release. The Yakuza series has become pretty popular outside of Japan, with the PS4 release of Yakuza 0 specifically bringing in a lot of new fans. The latest western release, Yakuza: Kiwami 2, was released on PS4 last week.

The full version of Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will release on October 2nd, and will include English and Japanese dialog options.
