Dragalia Lost, Nintendo’s New Mobile Game, Is Open For Pre-Registration

A couple of months ago, Nintendo announced that it would be partnering with Cygames to make a mobile game, which was revealed to be Dragalia Lost. It’s an action-RPG that and is a brand new property for Nintendo. The game will release on September 27 and is currently planned for the following regions: Japan, United States, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. There is no news, as of yet, about a release in other regions. On a more positive note, the game will launch on both iOS and Android at the same time. That’s a good sign since many games opt to feature on iOS exclusively during launch. While other regions will have to wait, at least all types of phone users can access the game.

Nintendo has also opened an English website for Dragalia Lost. Here you can pre-register for the game which will get you “up to 1500 Wyrmite”. Naturally, this will be one of the in-game currencies that we see in all free-to-play mobile games. The website also has plenty of information about the world, characters, gameplay and more. If you’re only hearing about for the first time, it may be worth checking out the site to see if Dragalia Lost is something you’d play. As for the trailer, you can view it below:

The trailer doesn’t show much gameplay, but there is a bit of it near the 20-second mark. As is the case with many mobile games, they tend to show off the concept and characters more than anything else. There is an English voice-over, suggesting the full game will also have this feature. However, there is no official confirmation on this.

Nintendo has been giving Dragalia Lost a lot of promotions and advertising. After dabbling in the market with games like Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes, they can see the potential of the market. Partnering with Cygames was also a smart decision, as they have proven themselves with games like Granblue Fantasy, which is popular in Japan. Dragalia Lost also seems to be a promising attempt at the action-RPG genre for mobile gaming.
