DONTNOD Reveals Dark Teaser for Life is Strange 2

There are still several weeks to go before the official release of Life is Strange 2, and DONTNOD is not holding back on teasing the much-anticipated sequel. Last month, we were treated to a short release date trailer, and today the developer has released an official teaser that is just under one minute long.

Already, the tone of the game is noticeably darker than the first season, which focused on protagonists Max and Chloe. Though it looks eerie for a Life is Strange title, the beginning of the teaser trailer starts out pretty innocuous, with police officer K. Matthews driving down an empty street and the viewer watching through his dash cam. After stopping in front of what looks to be an abandoned house, Matthew reports that he has a “10-10 in progress”- police code for a “fight in progress.”

Things go south pretty quickly. Matthews gets out of his car to investigate the house, and a second and later, he is blown sideways by an unnatural burst of wind that flips the entire police car over on its roof. That’s it. That’s all we know about the game so far. At the end of the trailer, though, DONTNOD promises “All will be revealed” on August 20, 2018.

The first episode of five episodes for Life is Strange 2 will release September 27th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To keep you occupied until then, its prequel (sort of) The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is currently free-to-play. Play as a young boy named Chris, with a beautifully untamed imagination in the midst of a dark family tragedy. There are several Easter eggs pertaining to Arcadia Bay and its residents, and the game even goes so far as to say Chris’s story will continue in Life is Strange 2. It will be interesting to see how these stories will be intertwined.
