Last night Antony Johnston, one of the main writers of Dead Space, seemingly teased an announcement for tomorrow’s big PlayStation 5 “The Future of Gaming” event, which will highlight some of the titles coming to Sony’s next generation console. In a now-deleted tweet, Johnston hinted at the reveal saying that he’s spent the last couple of years working on a big video game. He also added, “In totally unrelated news, you should watch the PS5 launch event on Thursday.”
Right now it’s unknown whether the reveal will be something related to Dead Space, or something completely new; and Johnston didn’t offer much to go on, only revealing in the replies that you’ll “play as a character having a really bad time.”
PlayStation 5’s “The Future of Gaming” event will be streaming live tomorrow, June 11th, on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9:00pm BST. The digital event will be “a bit more than an hour”, according to Sid Shuman, Senior Director, SIE Content Communications. Shuman also recommends watching the show while wearing headphones, because there’s some “cool audio work in the show” that won’t be as appreciated coming through laptop or phone speakers.
