Update: After some mixed reactions to the graphical fidelity of Crysis Remastered’s leaked materials, Crytek has announced that the full game and trailer premiere have been delayed “by a few weeks.” According to the developer, “This extra time will allow us to get Crysis Remastered up to the PC- and console-breaking standard you’ve come to expect from Crysis.” Crytek’s full statement can be read below.
Original Story: The Xbox Store has leaked details for several games over the past few months and now it has provided some additional details for Crysis Remastered, the upcoming port of the Crytek-developed FPS.
According to the game’s listing on Microsoft’s digital storefront, Crysis Remastered will launch on July 23, and those who pre-order will be able to play the game two days before its standard release. The game is also slated to release on PC and PS4, so it remains to be seen if the early access pre-order benefit will extend to those platforms as well.
For those playing on Xbox One, the game will support 4K Ultra HD and HDR 10. The entire package will only take up about 7GB of storage on your console or PC’s hard drive, which is a welcome change from modern games that can require ten times as much space.
The official Crysis YouTube channel is scheduled to debut a gameplay trailer for Crysis Remastered today, so it seems likely that the release date and other details will be formally announced soon.
The original release of Crysis hit store shelves in 2007 and was only available on PC. While it is a pretty good shooter in its own right, it is arguably more famous for the bleeding-edge hardware it required to run properly upon its release.
