Today Skybound Games released the two seasons of Telltale’s The Walking Dead that have been absent on Nintendo Switch: The Walking Dead: Season Two and A New Frontier. The Complete First Season of the game has been available on the Switch since August 2018, and the first three episodes of The Final Season released on Switch between August of 2018 and early 2019.
Fans of the series might recall developer Telltale’s sudden and unexpected shut down in September of 2018. Not only was the collapse a tremendous blow to the hard working devs at the studio, it also cancelled the development of the two remaining episodes of The Final Season and halted the possibility for a port of Season Two and A New Frontier to the Nintendo Switch.
Following the closing of Telltale’s doors, Skybound Entertainment acquired the rights to The Walking Dead seasons and brought on many former Telltale developers to finish out the final episodes of The Final Season. The last episode of the series, despite the unfortunate circumstances of its completion, was a fitting end to Clementine’s journey which began back in 2012.
Both Season Two and A New Frontier contain five episodes and are available for $14.99 (each) in the eShop. Currently, the only Walking Dead Game not ported to the Switch is the standalone title Michonne.
