Borderlands 3 Officially Revealed at PAX East

The highly-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster hit Borderlands 2, aptly named Borderlands 3 was announced on Thursday during Gearbox Software’s hour-long slot on the main stage at PAX East.

Fans have been waiting for roughly seven years for this game, and the hype around its announcement reflects that. Over three-thousand people were in attendance to watch what Gearbox’s CEO Randy Pitchford had to say, with thousands more watching online on Twitch and YouTube. It was quite the event.

Many new characters were shown off in the announcement trailer, with some returning ones from previous games also included. Little is known about the game at this point, but rest assured we’ll bring you news as it comes out. Gearbox have already stated that additional info will be available on the Borderlands website on April 3rd, so keep an eye out for that.

For now, though, you can watch the full release trailer in 4K:

As well as Borderlands 3, a full remaster of the original Borderlands was announced to be released on April 4th on PS4 and Xbox One. No word on a PC version as yet but as we seem to be heading into ‘the year of Borderlands’ anything is possible.
