BlizzCon 2018 Virtual Ticket Now on Sale

Blizzard officially kicked off “BlizzCon season” yesterday with the BlizzCon 2018 All-Access Kickoff Show and detailed some special announcements for this year’s event, which will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 2-3. The archived stream can be viewed below.

Convention tickets for BlizzCon sold out last month, but Blizzard is offering the BlizzCon 2018 Virtual Ticket, which will allow fans to watch all of the panels, community events, and closing concert from their computer or through the BlizzCon Mobile App. It’s available now for $49.99, and is included with all convention tickets. The BlizzCon opening ceremony and eSports tournaments will be streamed on various platforms free of charge.

In addition to all of the video features, the Virtual Ticket will also include in-game items for Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and StarCraft: Remastered. The majority of these items will be announced at a later date, but the Overwatch item, a neat Diablo III-inspired legendary skin for Sombra, is available to use right now.

The Virtual Ticket comes with some other goodies as well. Anyone who purchases it will get a $10 discount on the BlizzCon 2018 goody bag, which includes a commemorative BlizzCon book and other collectibles for Blizzard’s games. Virtual Ticket holders will also get early access to the BlizzCon 2018 merchandise sale on the Blizzard Gear Store before the convention takes place. This is especially useful for convention attendees who want to get their merch shopping done ahead of time.

BlizzCon 2018 is seven weeks away, and Blizzard gamers are speculating as to what announcements will be made at the convention. Many are hoping for a Diablo announcement, and the Sombra skin could be hinting at one. As we’ve reported previously, Blizzard mentioned last month that “multiple Diablo projects are in the works,” and that they may be shown “later this year.”
