Black Friday 2017: The Best Deals for PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Black Friday 2017 is quickly approaching, and there are some great deals for those looking to pick up a new console or a few games for some great low prices. Sony has already revealed its PlayStation Black Friday prices, and today Microsoft has done the same. Here are the best deals you can expect at your local retailers during the biggest shopping day of the year. Though the Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Nintendo Switch won’t see any price drops, there are deals on the older consoles as well as the PSVR that shoppers can look forward to this season.

Xbox

It looks like Microsoft is trying to steal the spotlight this holiday season. From November 23rd to the 27th, the standard Xbox One S 500 GB console will be priced at $189, which is the lowest price this console has ever been since its release over a year ago. That’s simply the base console, without any games. For those who are looking for a console bundle, you can pick up the Xbox One S starting at $249, along with one additional game as a bonus.

As far as Xbox Live Gold, from November 16th through the 27th, new subscribers will be able to sign up for the service for just $1. Microsoft is also offering a 3-month subscription for the newbies for $12. Next week, shoppers can also save $20 on Xbox Wireless controllers this year. The controllers, usually priced at $60, will be dropping to $40. Check out the full list of deals at Xbox.

PlayStation

At first glance, PlayStation’s Black Friday deals don’t look as strong as Xbox, but it’s still a great time to pick up a PS4. PlayStation 4 has a strong lineup of exclusive titles, with many great ones like Horizon Zero Dawn releasing in the last year alone.

For those looking to pick up a console, the standard black 1T PlayStation 4 Slim will be available for $199.99. What’s a new piece of hardware, though, without controllers? Dualshock 4 controllers, including the new translucent colors, will be priced at $39.99. This Back Friday season is also a good time to invest in PlayStation VR, which will only be available in bundles. You will be able to buy PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sport Bundle for $299.99 and the PlayStation VR Skyrim Bundle for $349.99.

PlayStation Plus members will be able to get in on the action early. According to the PlayStation blog, members “will get exclusive early access to some of the biggest deals in the PlayStation Store Black Friday Sale starting on November 17”.

PlayStation will actually be having a Black Friday week, starting on November 19 that will go through Cyber Monday on the 27th.

Nintendo

Since its release earlier this year, Nintendo Switch quickly became one of the must-have items of 2017. Though we won’t see a price drop on the console for Black Friday, Nintendo has been working hard to make sure the Switch is fully stocked at Amazon and other retailers in preparation for holiday shopping.

Nintendo will be offering a Switch bundle that will include the system, a download code for Super Mario Odyssey, Mario-themed red Joy-Con controllers, and a special carrying case all for $379.99. The standard Switch will remain at its usual price of $299.

If all of that wasn’t enough to get you excited, we’ll be seeing huge deals on some of the biggest games that released throughout 2017. Games like Resident Evil VII Biohazard, Destiny 2, Fifa 18, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be just $30, while others like Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Halo Wars 2, and Mass Effect Andromeda will be $20. Check out all the best deals here.
