Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Comes Out This November

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla finally received a release date during today’s Ubisoft Forward event. The game will be releasing on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Stadia.

This announcement was preceded by a 6-minute look at some brand new gameplay. Players can choose between having the main character Eivor be male or female. All of the footage today showcased the female version of the character.

While sailing in your longboat, you may come across towns that you can raid. Doing so will give you resources to put towards upgrading your own Settlement. The Settlement also has a map that shows any allies that you may have. This map also serves a guide for any future opportunities to ally with others.

In regards to enemies, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has the largest enemy variety in the series. There are multiple different attack strategies that they can employ in combat, requiring you to approach each of them differently. You’ll have a number of different weapons to use in combat this time around. Some weapons that can be used are the viking harpoon, throwing axes, hammers, and shields. You’ll be able to dual wield any two weapons as well, allowing you build your character to suit your combat style. Fortress assaults are another activity that you can partake in with your army.

Since Eivor isn’t welcome in England, there are some areas where you’ll have to be stealthy and wear your hood in order to remain hidden from enemies. Exploration also plays a key role in the game, as it is necessary in order to upgrade your weapons and armor, just like in Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey.

Following the event, there was a 30-minute gameplay walkthrough that gave much deeper look at everything that was shown during the event. It’s lengthy, but worth a watch to get a better idea of what to expect from the game.
